“Downsizing/What do I do with my stuff?” was the first seminar of 2022 offered by ASURA.  The seminar featured a panel consisting of Ruth Jones and Alleen and Don Nilsen who told their stories about making the decision to downsize, what factors they considered in determining where they would live, overall what effort did it take to get them to their new home and their current experiences living in a senior community.  Ruth made the decision to move to Mirabella while the Nilsens moved to Friendship Village. 

Sue Henderson and Marianne Gariti followed the panel discussion with a presentation on what to do with all that stuff you've accumulated!  Sue talked about having a plan and tips for getting over emotional attachment to stuff.  Marianne, who owns a company that specializes in helping seniors with downsizing, gave the attendees suggestions for how to go about downsizing, options that are available to them through her agency and many general helpful suggestions once you decide to make that step to downsize.
