William G. Baxter, 85, passed away March 25, 2011. He was born in Braddock, Pennsylvania, on January 27, 1925. At age 17 he enlisted in the U. S. Navy and served during WW II in Brazil. During the Korean War he enrolled in the Air Force cadet program and became a navigator. In 1954 he married Martha Kennedy. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh and his masters degree from Arizona State University. William retired as major from his career in the Air Force. He was assistant director of Career Services at ASU from the late 1960’s until 1985. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Martha, three children and 11 grandchildren.
