Wanda Lee Turk

Wanda Lee (Borders) Turk, 85, died June 19, 2013. She was a graduate of the University of Louisville and received her Master's of Arts degree at the University of Indiana. Wanda was an accomplished artist and particularly enjoyed working with textiles. Wanda and her husband, Rudy H. Turk, came to Arizona from California in 1967 and settled in Tempe in 1968. Wanda served on the Board of Directors of the Tempe Public Library for fifteen years, was a member of the Tempe Municipal Arts Commission, volunteered with the Tempe Historical Museum, Friends of ASU Dance, and in various positions at Friendship Village where she and Rudy lived from early 2006. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, granddaughter and, her husband Rudy Turk, former director of ASU Art Museum. A private memorial service was held June 24, 2013.
