Thomas P. Papandrew died on April 27, 2006 in Scottsdale. He was 91 years old. Mr. Papandrew was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on September 29, 1914. His family later settled in Erie, Pennsylvania where he attended school and married Rita Kuehl. They and their children moved to Arizona in 1943. His wife Rita preceded him in death. They were married 62 years and had four children: Patricia Yee of Tacoma, Washington, Constance Reale of Blythe, California, Thomas Papandrew (Willa) of Honolulu, Hawaii and David Papandrew (Karen) of Tacoma, Washington. He is also survived by one sister, Kally Kyriazis. Mr. Papandrew worked as a construction estimator at several different firms during his career, among them Del Webb, Channen Construction and Ramada Inn until his retirement in 1977. After retirement he assumed a teaching position at ASU in the construction department for several years. Mr. Papandrew was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus and former Grand Knight in the Marcos de Niza Council. He served several years in the St. Mary's Dad's Club, the St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Boy Scouts of America. He was an avid bridge player right up until his death. He also enjoyed cooking. In addition to his four children, he is survived by 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren.
