A. Tage Wood

A. Tage Wood passed away on September 15, 2010. Ms. Wood had an extensive and distinguished career as a college and university professor and director. Some of her many degrees and accomplishments include: Professor Emeritus, Rowan University, BS Degree E. Stroudsburg State University, Pennsylvania, M. Ed University of South Dakota. Ms. Wood wrote the first thesis in dance curriculum in the State of South Dakota. Additional training in dance education at the Peabody Conservatory of Music, Baltimore, MD, New School for Social Research NY. Ms. Wood was Professor at the University of South Dakota, Dakota Wesleyan University, Western Maryland College, and Rowan University. She retired from Rowan University in 1998 after teaching for 27 years and moved to Phoenix, AZ. She joined ASU’s Friends of Dance Organization whose main purpose was to assist in strengthening the Dance Scholarship Endowment Fund. Ms. Wood served as President for three years and initiated a dance scholarship breakfast for dance majors fortunate enough to receive funds from various benefactors for summer and winter studies. Ms. Wood is survived by a son, a daughter, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
