Stella Pecelj Collett

Stella Pecelj Collett, 88, died June 12, 2010. Stella was born in Herzegovina, Yugoslavia. When she was five years old, she immigrated to the United States with her parents, eventually settling in DeKalb, IL. She, her husband and three children finally settled in Arizona in 1965. Stella retired from ASU in 1983, where she worked as a secretary in both the Zoology Department and Registrar's Office. During retirement, she was active as a Republican precinct committee member, volunteer at Tempe Historical Museum, and served as a member of Desert Samaritan Hospital Auxiliary. Stella was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and her husband, Robert. She is survived by her three children, six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
