Sheila Ainlay was Vice Provost for Academic Planning and Budget, serving as a member of the Office of the University Provost from 2007 to 2022. 

Prior to her time in the Provost’s Office, she was a part of the teams that helped to start up the ASU West (1986-1995) and ASU Polytechnic (1995-2007) campuses.

She holds a B.A. in Psychology from Fresno State University and M.S. and Ph.D degrees in Psychology from Arizona State University.  Sheila grew up in the San Francisco Bay area and has lived in the Phoenix metropolitan area with her family since moving to Arizona in 1978.
