Dr. Shaweta Vasudeva loved academics and sports - competing throughout childhood through college in tennis and softball.
Dr. Shay devoted her life to helping people heal physically, emotionally, and spiritually. She was deeply passionate about wellness, healthy living, fitness, and whole-person healing. Through her work as an acupuncturist, coach, professor, and mentor, she touched countless lives with her intelligence, warmth, humor, and unwavering belief that people could become the best version of themselves.
She earned Master's Degrees in Psychology and Kinesiology and later completed her Doctorate in Acupuncture.
Throughout her career, Dr. Shay combined Eastern and Western approaches to health and wellness, bringing together psychology, movement science, nutrition, acupuncture, corrective exercise, and holistic healing practices. Dr. Shay was a dedicated educator who served as Professor at Arizona State University and Rio Salado College. She was passionate about teaching and mentoring students and took pride in helping others pursue healthier and more fulfilling lives through education and personal growth.
As the founder of ShayTheCoach and ShayTheCoachAcupuncture, Dr. Shay helped clients throughout Arizona improve their health, recover from injury, manage stress, and rediscover strength and balance in their lives. She was also an educator and speaker who shared her knowledge with students, clients, and professional communities alike.
Dr. Shay is survived by her loving parents, Vijay and Sushma; her brother; her maternal grandparents; her beloved cats; and a large circle of uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family, dear friends, students, and clients whose lives she touched deeply.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Shiv Chander Vasudeva and Sumitra Vasudeva.
