Robert Anderson
Professor, Chemistry and Physics - 1966 to 1967

Dr. Robert Anderson, 85, passed away on April 18, 2015. He graduated from the University of Iowa with his BS in 1952 and ME in 1953. He completed his PhD from the University of Nebraska in 1963. Bob worked in various school districts throughout Iowa for nine years as a chemistry, physics teacher, administrator, and high school coach. After he completed his PhD, he began his college teaching profession at Central Washington State College. Three years later he moved his family to Tempe, AZ where he was a professor at ASU for one year (1966-1967). They returned to the Midwest in the summer of 1967 to teach at WSU. He was instrumental in creating the Field Research Services Division through WSU. He retired in 1992. Bob is preceded in death by his wife, Darlene, and a brother. He is survived by three sons, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on May 9 at 10:00 a.m., at Rhatigan Student Center (WSU). In lieu of flowers a memorial in Dr. Robert E. Anderson’s name has been established with the WSU Foundation, 1845 N Fairmount, Wichita, KS 67260-0002.
