Dr. Reinhold R. Kiermayr, 70, passed away on April 30, 2006. Born in Munich, Germany on September 25, 1935. He received a commission in the Germany Navy and served as a jet pilot and as a Squadron Commander in the German Fleet Air Arm. He was an instructor Pilot at Luke Air Force Base from 1967 to 1971 when he returned to Germany. He retired in 1975 and moved with his family to Tempe, Arizona. He attended Arizona State University and received a Doctorate in 1983. He was a history professor at Glendale Community College for 19 years and also taught classes at ASU-West. He is survived by his wife, Norma, three sons and daughters-in-law Robert and Brenda, Karl and Joyce, and Phillip and Lisa, three grandsons and five granddaughters, a brother, Ullrich in Vienna, Austria, and a sister, Madi in Duderstadt, Germany.
