Pete (Peter) Gastello, 56, passed away on September 7, 2021. When Peter was two years old his mother met Willie John Willie Sr. They lived here in Phoenix while Willie was in Bible School. Then Willie took Peter and his mother to live on the Navajo Reservation just outside of Tuba City, Az, in a small community called Moenave, AZ. Peter went to school on the reservation and was raised all throughout the Navajo reservation.



At age 16 he went to live with an aunt and uncle in Phoenix. Peter attended Phoenix Job Corp, and as a young adult found a job working at Motorola. When Peter left Motorola he went to live with two uncles in California. Shortly after, he came back home to Arizona and found a job working at ASU where he met Jeannie. They lived together for eight years before Jeannie passed away. (Source: ASU Foundation)
