Norbert J. "Bert" Konzal, 90, passed away March 2, 2013. Bert joined the Army Air Corps in 1942 and served until 1946 at Luke Field. He spent 36 years as a teacher (Biology & Chemistry), Director of Science Education and Director of Curriculum for the Phoenix Union High School District. Bert was also an adjunct professor at ASU, Tempe for many years. Bert is survived by one sister, one brother and many nieces and nephews. He was an avid gardener and horticulture photographer. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Helen's Catholic Church, 5510 W Cholla, Glendale, AZ, on Friday, March 8, 2013 at 8:30 a.m. (Source: Arizona Republic)
