Minutes for May 14, 2019

This was the first Board meeting of the new Board for the 2019-2020 Year.  President Jan Thompson welcomed everyone and then outlined her four (4) goals for the next year - 1) Increase the visibility of ASURA across all campuses; 2) Grow the membership; 3) Increase the activity level of the members; 4) Have fun!  The financial report was accepted by the Board.  Committee reports were given by the committee chairs who were present at the meeting.  The Adopt-A-Family committee is in need of a new chair.  The scholarship recipient has been selected and notified.  Video history project conducted two (2) interviews.  A new venue for the Fall meet & greet and the holidy potluck was approved.  Plans are in the works for the January trip to Iceland.  Seminars are being scheduled for the year.  Jeri reported that there are no bills presently before the legislature that have any negative impact on the ASRS.  A change in email services for new retirees is going into effect July 1, 2019.
