Michele (Micki) Blazek completed her bachelor's and master's degrees at Purdue University Calumet Campus in Hammond. She earned her doctorate degree in Accounting at Arizona State University. 

She taught Accounting at Purdue University Calumet, Arizona State University, and the University of Las Vegas. 

She went on to become a Chief Financial Officer at a hospital in Pasadena, CA before she retired. 

She is survived by her stepson and stepdaughter ; two sisters; and two grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Patricia McGlinchy.

A memorial service was held on August 5, 2025. A memorial service will also be provided in Indiana in late August.
