Mary Stevens

   

Mary was the Senior University Counsel for Employment Relations at ASU before she retired in January 2007. She was employed in the General Counsel’s office for 22 years. Her specialization was employment law and at ASU, she focused on in faculty and academic employment, personnel, and civil rights matters. Prior to joining ASU, she was an associate attorney with the law firm of James A. Ullman, P.C. that specialized in teacher employment.

She was an elementary school teacher in Phoenix for 10 years before attending law school. In 1980, she served as a law clerk to the Honorable Justice James Duke Cameron on the Arizona Supreme Court. Mary received a B.A. from ASU, an M.A. in Theater, University of Denver and a J.D. from ASU. Mary’s loves are theater, dancing, golf, skiing, travel and volunteerism in the area of adult or children’s literacy.
