Kathleen "Katie" Florence Acker, 94, passed away on December 11, 2018. Katie received a Bachelor's Degree in Business from the University of Kansas in 1947 and served as an Air Force wife until 1970. The family moved to Tempe where Jim joined the faculty at ASU. Katie is survived by two sons, two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, two grandsons and a sister. Visitation and funeral service will be held in Lamb Chapel at Grace Community Church, 1200 East Southern Avenue, Tempe, 85282, on Monday, December 17, 2018, with visitation at 10:00 am and funeral service at 11:00 am. Burial will be at 1:30 pm at the National Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, 85024.
