June Marilyn Tucker Thomson, 92, died on November 3, 2018. June showed remarkable musical abilities at an early age and was so sufficiently developed as a pianist that her parents gave her a Chickering baby grand piano for her tenth birthday. She also became a wild film enthusiast at a tender age. She estimated recently that she had seen and reviewed over 10,000 films in her career.  In 1943 she matriculated to Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS where she received her B.A. in Music Education in 1946. She met and married Dr. Tom Radford Thomson. Following their graduations, they moved to Alamosa, Colorado where Dr. Thomson was appointed Chairman of the Chemistry Department at Adams State College. In 1961 the couple moved to Scottsdale, Arizona where Dr. Thomson was appointed Professor of Organic Chemistry at ASU and June established her career as a well loved and successful piano instructor. In 1984 the couple retired to Sonoma, CA. June was predeceased by her husband in 2017. She is survived by five children and three grandchildren. A memorial service will be scheduled later.
