Dr. John L. Edwards, Sr., 82 passed away on July 19, 2013. He retired as a College of Education professor emeritus from ASU in 1996. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mavis Edwards, two sons, a daughter, seven grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Public viewing is Tues, July 30, 2013, 6-8 p.m. at Universal Memorial Center, 1100 E. Jefferson St., Phoenix, AZ 85034. Funeral service will be held on Wed, July 31, 2013, 10 a.m. with a one hour prior viewing at Tanner Chapel A.M.E. Church, 20 S. 8th St., Phoenix, AZ 85034.
