ohn Aaron Austin, Jr., 72, passed away on April 26, 2015. John completed his undergraduate education at Louisiana Tech and his graduate education at ASU, receiving his Masters in mathematics in 1966 and his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering in 1971. John's career as a college professor spanned the following schools: ASU, University of Utah, Virginia Military Institute, and finally Louisiana State University in Shreveport (LSUS) where he was a Professor, Department Chair, and Associate Dean in the College of Business. He retired in 2008 as a Professor Emeritus of Economics. He was one of the lead researchers in the development of the first artificial arm while in Utah. John was preceded in death by a brother and a stepson. He is survived by his wife, Donna Lowderback Austin, his three children, a stepdaughter, a brother, 13 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. John donated his body to science; therefore, there will be no funeral. There will be a celebration of his life on Saturday, June 27, at LSUS, Shreveport, LA, in the ballroom at 2:00 PM, with visitation from 1-2 PM.
