Following in the journalistic footsteps of both of his parents, Greg Boeck built a distinguished 37-year career as a journalist. His profession as a sportswriter included eight years as a columnist at the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle and 17 years at USA TODAY. Over the course of his career, Greg covered some of the world's biggest sporting events, including the Olympics, Super Bowl, Kentucky Derby, NBA Finals, World Series, Wimbledon, U.S. Open golf tournament, among many others.

After retiring from journalism, Greg found another calling as a professor. He joined the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University, where he flourished as an educator, building connections with his students. His teaching was innovative - from taking students to London for the Summer Olympics, where they wrote stories that were published in newspapers across the United States, to creating opportunities for students to interact with players and staff during MLB's spring training. Teaching ultimately became one of the accomplishments of which he was most proud.

Greg is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Lindy; two sons, two sisters, four grandchildren, four nephews and three nieces.

In addition to his parents, Greg is preceded in death by a sister and a brother.

In place of flowers, the family asks that you consider donating in Greg's memory to the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication Scholarship Fund or the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix.
