Major George James Geiser
ASU School of Civil Engineering Technical Advisory Council
Major George James "Jim" Geiser graduated with a civil engineering degree from Arizona State University in 1977. He served on the Technical Advisory Council of the ASU School of Civil Engineering and as a member of the Friends of Civil and Environmental Engineering. He was a Board Member of the Veterans Chapter of the ASU Alumni Association and was the driving force behind the installation of the now-dedicated Memorial to Fallen Alumni. In 2018, Jim received the Outstanding Civil Engineering Alumni Award from ASU. Jim served 29 years in the U. S. Marine Corps as a "Mustang" officer first reaching the rank of Gunnery Sergeant before receiving a direct commission as a Second Lieutenant and the field grade rank of Major. He joined two campaigns in Vietnam and served with both the Phoenix and Tucson Marine Corp Reserve. He spent 30 years as a registered professional engineer in Arizona where he provided water resources and forensic civil engineering services to a diverse variety of clients. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth & Kathryn "Pat" Geiser of Scottsdale. He is survived by his brother, two children and three grandchildren. Memorial Services are planned for Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Scottsdale Bible Church Chapel. Final Viewing will be at 10AM and service at 10:30AM with interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the "Amy Geiser and Kent Geiser Honorary Scholarship" fund at Arizona State University. |
