With Thanksgiving coming late there is almost no time to rest before the holiday activities kick in. We managed to slip in the Potluck in the Park and if you are quick there is still time to nominate someone for the Board, volunteer for a nutrition research study or maybe find a photo for Jeannette’s next Prime Times issue (see items below for details) In any event I am wishing you all a pleasant "relaxing" holiday season..
December Potluck in the Park
For today’s Potluck in the Park we can thank Barbara Eschbach for suggesting a picnic, Carol Taylor-Tassone for finding the Papago Park Tempe, and Mary Stevens for making it happen. We should also thank Zeus for holding off the rain until the evening.
It was a beautiful day in a beautiful park with an amazing diversity in food as twenty-five members and guests gathered to inaugurate the opening of the in-person event season. The order of the day was relax, chat, and eat. As Ernie Banks, of the Cubs said "Lets play two", everyone thought we should do this again – how about March?
Spring Prime Times Article (from Jeannette Robson)
We are coming upon 2 years since we last saw many of our members' smiling faces and would like to make a change to that.
Therefore, if you are getting together with any of the other ASURA members during this holiday season --- be it dining in or out, a shopping spree, a fishing trip or a sledding adventure up north, it would be great if you could share your memorable photos with us. Our idea is to post your photos in our "ASURA Photo Gallery" and to also include many of them in our Spring 2022 Prime Times newsletter.
Along with the photo, please include names of each ASURA member in the photo, what the activity was and, if possible, one or two sentences as to what inspired the get-together. All can be emailed to barry_mcneill@outlook.com and to jrobson@asu.edu .

ASURA Board Nominations Due January 14, 2022
Carl Cross, Immediate Past President and chair of the Board Nominating Committee, asked to have the following November notice republished in December.
Each year in February, ASURA holds an election for five new members of the ASURA Board of Directors. The Board manages the affairs of the Association and establishes policies as needed to carry out its mission. Members of the Board are elected for a term of three years and meet monthly during the academic year.
You may offer the name of a current ASURA member or your own name as a potential Board member by notifying the Nominating Committee chair of your nomination. To be sure that your nominee’s name gets on the ballot, you can (as mandated by ASURA Bylaws) submit a petition of nomination bearing the signatures of at least ten current ASURA members. All nominating petitions must be received by January 14, 2022.
