Dwight Cruse Anderson

Dr. Dwight Cruse Anderson received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration degrees from Louisiana Tech University.

He served in the United States Army from 1966-68 at Jaeger Kaserne, Germany, and earned his Ph.D. from the University of Alabama.

After serving as Professor of Finance at Arizona State University, Dwight returned to Ruston with their family. He joined the faculty at Louisiana Tech University, where he served as Professor of Finance and Department Head of Economics and Finance, receiving numerous teaching awards and recognition before retiring as Professor Emeritus.

In addition to his distinguished teaching career, Dwight devoted countless hours to serving his community. Over the years he coached and led Dixie League Baseball, YMCA Football, and church basketball, and he was an active member of the Ruston Kiwanis Club, serving multiple terms as Kiwanis President.

Dwight was preceded in death by his parents and his brother.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Kay Howard Anderson; his two children and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The funeral service was held at Temple Baptist Church on Sept. 18, 2026.
