Donald Ray (Don) Koonce, 87, passed away on January 7, 2013. Don served in the United States Army from 1943 to 1948, became a Corporal and earned several awards including Bronze Stars.  Don then re-enlisted in the Army and served as a Corporal from 1948 to 1952. He worked as a commercial photographer in Fort Wayne, Indiana until 1978 and then in the photography department at ASU and Mesa Community College. Don is survived by one sister, three children, four stepchildren, twelve grandchildren and fourteen great grand-children. Private graveside services are to be held at Mountain View Funeral Home, 7900 E Main St, Mesa AZ at 1:00 pm on January 18, 2013.  (Source: Arizona Republic)
