John Richard “Dick” Mansperger, 80, passed away June 12, 2013. Dick played on the 1956 and 1957 ASU Sun Devil football teams and in both 1958 and 1962 served as assistant coach for Head Coach Frank Kush.  His coaching specialty was the interior line. He also held coaching positions at UCLA, Iowa, West Texas State and Palo Verde College. Dick served as a lieutenant in the Army Airborne Division from 1953 to 1956. He also had a lengthy career spanning some 26 years as Director of Player Personnel for both the Seattle Seahawks and the Dallas Cowboys. Dick is survived by a daughter, two brothers and a sister. A remembrance gathering will be held at Monti's La Casa Vieja on Mill Avenue in Tempe on Wednesday, July 10th from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm. If you plan to attend please RSVP to Jim at 602-531-0856.
