Dan DeMaio

Dan DeMaio was a decorated firefighter for the FDNY, beginning service on April 20th, 1987. He dedicated 11 & 1/2 years to the city of New York before retiring on October 17th, 1998.

Shortly after, Dan and his family moved to Peoria, Arizona to begin a new chapter in their lives. Once there, Dan worked for Arizona State University before rejoining the fire department as a Fire Inspector for the City of Peoria. His work excellence led to the position of Fire Marshal for the City of Peoria where he worked 12 years before a back injury prompted his resignation in 2014. He was extremely proud of his career as part of FDNY and the City of Peoria and found great fulfillment working in the fire department.

He is survived by his wife, Eileen, his two children, and his granddaughter.

Memorial was held July 5, 2023. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the First Responders Children's Foundation. https://give.1strcf.org/give/280172/#!/donation/checkout
