Cheryl "Cherry" Marie Newton,  62, passed away on July 20, 2019. Cherry obtained a BS in Education at Salem State College, Salem MA and MEd in Higher and Adult Education at ASU.  She spent most of her professional career (35 years) at ASU, serving first in the International Student Office, and most recently as a Senior Academic Advisor at the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College. She is survived by a brother, sister, nephews and a niece. A Catholic funeral  was held for her on Saturday, August 3, 2019, at the Church of the Holy Spirit 1800 E.
