Charles Duval Switzer, 76, passed away on August 19, 2018. He enlisted in the US Navy during the Vietnam War and served as a foundryman on the USS Piedmont and the USS Dixie stationed out of San Diego, CA. His daughter, Heather Switzer, graduated from Virginia Tech with her PhD in Public and International Affairs and is an Assistant Professor of Women and Gender Studies at ASU. Charles is survived by his wife, Rita, his daughter Heather, a son Scott, two brothers and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and their families. He is preceded in death by eight relatives. Services to celebrate Charlie's life will be held in Princeton, WVA and Salem, VA.
