Charles Gray Jenkins, 82, passed away on October 2, 2015. Chuck attended Lewis and Clark College in Portland Oregon, received his MDiv from San Francisco Theological Seminary and obtained his Counseling Psychology Ph.D. in 1973 from ASU. Chuck maintained his private practice for over thirty years including work with Motorola, Canyon Ranch and teaching at the Executive Development Center at ASU. Early in his career, Chuck founded the Interfaith Counseling program, providing high quality professional supervised interns and residents in master's and doctoral programs, along with other specialized programs helping people with life issues and life skills. Chuck served parishes in Alaska, Pakistan and Arizona. During seminary in San Francisco, he served the families of Alcatraz and the inmates at San Quentin. Chuck is survived by his wife, Jean Hight Jenkins, three children and four grandchildren. Services will be held in the Kilgore Chapel of Valley Presbyterian Church, 6947 E. McDonald Drive, Paradise Valley 85253 on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of the Valley (http://www.hov.org/donation) or the American Cancer Society (https://donate.cancer.org/index) (Source: Arizona Republic)
