Charles LeRoy Buddemeyer
Swim Coach

Charles LeRoy Buddemeyer was a USMC Veteran, a former Costa Mesa Police Officer, LA county Paramedic, and LA Lifeguard, a Counselor for Adolescents at Ingleside Psychiatric Hospital, and a Swim Coach. He had a bit part in the 1968 movie, "LifeGuard". As a Swim instructor, he received the USMC Commendation for Good Conduct where he taught "Drown Proofing" at MCRD San Diego. He graduated CSU, Long Beach with a BA degree. He then assisted Coaching swim with his mentor Don Gambril at ASU and went on to Coach at several schools in California. After retirement, he loved a great game of Omaha, and drove for Lyft and Uber... still coaching passengers on surviving life. Chuck was also a Member of the Magic Castle. He often entertained his guests by performing magic at the Magic Castle in Hollywood. And, he performed magic for almost everyone he met. He was preceded in death by his Father, Emmett H. Pace, and his Mother Nelva M McBee. He is survived by his partner of 15 years, Arleen Sayre, two sons, three daughters, two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. |
