Charles Adams

Charles J. Adams,86, passed away March 23, 2011. He received his BA degree from Baylor University. He continued his education at the University of Chicago Divinity School where he received his PHD in 1953. Charles taught Religion a year at Princeton University, then at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, where he was a Research Fellow in the area of Islamic Studies. He spent two years in Pakistan under a Ford Foundation Scholarship. He returned to McGill and was Director of the Institute of Islamic Studies for 21 years. After retiring from McGill Charles and his wife moved to Gold Canyon, AZ. Charles was a Professor of Islamic studies at ASU for several years. His wife, Joanna, passed away September 2005. Charles is survived by one brother and a niece.
