ASU remembers
Carol Ann Collins
Wife of James Collins - Biology Department Chairman
August 5, 2022
Carol Collins received her Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics in 1969. In her professional career, Carol learned computer programming in the early 1970s at the University of Michigan. She leveraged that training to reach executive levels in the computer software industry. Carol’s gift for research was demonstrated by her decades-long passion for genealogy and gardening. Carol cared deeply for other people; she always had a smile and took the time to listen. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and Planned Parenthood. Together, Carol and her long-haired dachshund Dana volunteered at Friendship Village spreading smiles and tail wags. Carol is survived by the love of her life and husband of 52 years, James; two beloved daughters and their partners; two grandchildren; two siblings; her in-laws; and many loved nieces and nephews. The family sends special thanks for their care and comfort, over the years and in Carol’s last days, to the teams of Casa Reynoso, Denny’s at Broadway and Priest, Wildflower Café Tempe, and the health care teams at HonorHealth Shea Oncology Floor and Hospice of the Valley at Friendship Village. A private celebration of life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your local Meals on Wheels. |
