Bonnie Laura Sperling

Various staff positions including College of Fine Arts - 1980-2002

Bonnie Sperling

Bonnie Laura Sperling settled in Tempe, Arizona, in 1980. Bonnie held several staff positions at Arizona State University providing services directly to students, finally retiring from academic advising in the College of Fine Arts in 2002.

She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends. Bonnie could be counted on to support those in need, friend or stranger, and was an ally for the marginalized and underrepresented. She was an avid reader and crocheted and knitted. Baby blankets were her specialty, and a small stash remains for future babies and grandbabies of her friends and acquaintances.

Bonnie is survived by her husband, Michael; two daughters; a son; a daughter-in-law; and two granddaughters.

A memorial service was held March 27, 2022, at Green Acres Mortuary in Scottsdale, AZ. Instead of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to any of the following: • Summit Healthcare Services, 7310 N 16th St., #100, Phoenix, AZ 85020 • Alzheimer's Association, 340 E Palm Lane, #230, Phoenix, AZ 85004 • Rose Sperling Children's Fund, c/o Temple Emanuel, 5801 S Rural Rd., Tempe, AZ 85283
