Betty Austin Hunter, 87, passed away April 28, 2015. Betty received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from UNC Greensboro. She later taught home economics at Durham Senior High School, the University of North Carolina, Greensboro and at ASU in Tempe, Arizona. While at ASU she served as a guidance counselor for many years in the home economics department, which included chaperoning groups of students to the New York City fashion district. She is survived by a son, three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two sisters and one brother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde, one sister and two brothers. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2015 at the Mount Lawn Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
