After high school he attended trade school to become a painter. In 1972, Benny and Cindy moved with their two young daughters to Phoenix, Arizona.

Benny absolutely loved Arizona and all that it had to offer. He would later go on to work for Arizona State University in their Housing Department. Eventually Benny started his own painting business.

Benny loved fishing, camping, and picnicking in the park. Over the years, he took his family on many memorable trips in their camper. He was an avid lover of golf. 

Benny is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Cindy, and two brothers.

He is survived by his two daughters, his son as well as five sisters, a brother and six grandchildren.
