Archives and Special Collections
Barbara Joan Hoddy received a bachelor's degree at Arizona State University and began her career as an archivist, spanning numerous universities over her 40-year career. Her career included positions at San Jose State, University of San Francisco, the Bancroft Library at UC Berkley, and the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC). After battling breast cancer in 2001, Barb returned to Tempe to be closer to family, where she finished her career working for ASU in archives and special collections. Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Bill and Mary Hoddy, her brother-in-law, Mark, and nephews Todd and Erik. She is survived by her four siblings, eight nephews and nieces, and two great nieces. A funeral Mass was held on June 14, 2024. In lieu of flowers, Barbara requested that donations be made to Frank Elementary School Library to purchase new and exciting literature for children, or Hospice of the Valley supporting patients with end stage pancreatic cancer. |
