About half of U.S. adults report feeling lonely. Disconnection  impacts mental, physical, and societal well-being. AROHE's 2024 Virtual Summit explored the importance of social relationships in retirement with a presentation by Dr. Julianne Holt-Lunstad, professor of psychology and neurosciences at BYU. Following Dr. Holt-Lunstad's talk, panelists Kaye Jeter, Central State University; Valerie Ventre-Hutton, University of California, Berkeley; and Louise Nasmith, University of British Columbia discussed their personal experiences with maintaining social connections.
