Spring 2009 (updated March 2021)

Linda Van Scoy is an Arizona native, born in Phoenix.  She grew up in Tempe, attended Tempe High School and Arizona State University where she received a BA in English in 1971. 

While an ASU student, she worked in the College of Engineering and upon graduation worked for one year in the Division of Agriculture before joining the Academic Vice President's Office in a clerical position in 1972.  She remained in that office for 35 years and supported a total of 8 Vice Presidents/Provosts (the name of the office changed to the Office of the Provost). 

She retired in 2007 as Assistant to the Provost and Director, Office of the Provost with 36 years of service (not counting student work years).  Her positions in the Provost's office ranged from clerical staff to service professional/administrative as the office grew from 4 employees to over 25.  ASU has been a family affair.  Her mother worked as a Supervisor in the Business Office for 25 years, her only sister also graduated from ASU as did her nephew.

In "retirement" Linda has been a valued member of the Video History Project, serving as chair for several year. Since 2015 she and Nancy Lesko have been the co-coordinators of the Office.

Linda and her husband Ed are long-time Corvette enthusiasts and enjoy land speed racing (Ed as the driver, Linda as the crew chief), ralleys, car shows and road trips.  She is enjoying being an ASURA volunteer and currently is co-office coordinator and serves on the Video History Project.
