Leonard Gordon, Dean Emeritus and Senator, passed away March 4, 2015. Len was also Professor and Associate Dean Emeritus of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and served many years as Chair of the Sociology Department. He was a founding member of the Emeritus College who continued his leadership on many levels. He was recently active on the University Senate Executive Committee, the Sexual Violence Task Force and Student Policy Committee of the ASU Academic Senate just to name a few. Len taught at ASU for over 40 years and had established the Len and Rena Gordon “Spunky” Award, which is presented each academic school year to a student who has shown “spunk” in overcoming obstacles to succeed as an undergraduate. A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 8, 2015, 10:00am at Paradise Memorial Gardens, 9300 E. Shea Blvd, Scottsdale, AZ 85260; (480) 860-2300. It will be a graveside service.
