Virginia Perry Karnes, 92, passed away on October 28, 2010. Survivors are her husband, Tom, four children, six grandchildren and extended family. Tom and Virginia would have celebrated their 69th anniversary on December 23, 2010. Their life together took them from Washington, D.C. to many Air Force bases during WWII and then finally to Palo Alto where Tom completed his PhD at Stanford. The family moved to New Orleans in 1954 for Tom’s first professorship at Tulane. They moved to Arizona in 1968 where he was a faculty member in the History Department with ASU, and is a Professor Emeritus of History.
