Thomas Arthur Stewart, Sr., 76, passed away Oct. 4, 2011. Tom was an electrician, educated at Phoenix Tech in Arizona. He worked for IBM for years, then Technical Services Inc. in Arizona, then at ASU where he was energy manager. He later worked for a contractor installing energy management systems from Cantwell north to Barrow in federal, state, and private office buildings and schools. He eventually worked to maintain the same systems for the Fairbanks North Star Borough from where he retired. Tom and his wife, Mary, resided in Salcha, Alaska from 1984 until 2008. They both retired from public service in 1998. Tom was predeceased by his wife, Mary Jean, in 2009. He is survived by six children, 20 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and five brothers.
