Susann Tomek Hammond, 71, passed away December 8, 2018. She studied at the University of Arizona, then later earned her Masters of English at ASU where she worked as the Academic Advisor to the student athletes. Susann had a long teaching career which began in Fountain Valley, California, followed by teaching 7th & 8th grade at Kennedy School in Phoenix. At the time of her passing Susann was teaching "Critical Thinking" in the English Department of Glendale Community College. Susann is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Reed Stuart Hammond, a sister, two stepchildren, and a granddaughter. There will be a private family memorial.
