Submit an obituary

This page provides instructions for submitting an obituary for a person who worked at ASU as a faculty or staff member. We will be happy to include that obituary on our site.

What to submit

Obituaries published on the ASU Retirees Association website have a special emphasis on the deceased person's affiliation with ASU.

Please provide as possible:

  • Photo of the deceased (separate photo file please)
  • Full name
  • Age at time of death
  • Date of death
  • ASU affiliation and years
  • A narrative about the deceased. Examples of things to include:
    • Undergraduate and graduate degrees conferred, and the institution that conferred them.
    • Significant professional accomplishments, with an emphasis on professional accomplishments at ASU.
    • Short personal information, such as hobbies and interests.
    • Survivors and those who preceded the deceased in death.
    • For those who may wish to attend it, specifics about any upcoming memorial service and preferences re donations.

How to submit

To submit, send the requested information in an email to the ASURA Obituaries committee chair (editor).

The chair/editor may edit what is submitted to correct any typographical errors and to present it in a standard structure and format.
