ASU remembers
Sivon Reznikoff
Professor, Environmental / Interior Design
April 6, 2013
Sivon Reznikoff, born Shirley, was Professor Emeritus in the College of Architecture and Environmental Design at ASU. Sivon chose Judiasm as her faith and married Rabbi Marvin Reznikoff. Since she was born in the age when women were not recognized as experts in architecture and design, she changed her name to Sivon, the name chosen by her late husband, so that when she wrote, the reader would not know whether it was a man or a woman writing and thus gain acceptance. Sivon owned and operated Louisiana Interior Design Institute in Baton Rouge, and later became a professor. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rabbi Marvin Reznikoff, and a son. She is survived by a daughter. A gathering will be held on April 10, 2013 at Beth Shalom Synagogue, 9111 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, 70809-2496, beginning at 11:00 am, with services at 12 noon. Interment is to follow at Liberal Cemetery, 9665 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, La. (Source: The Advocate, Baton Rouge, LA)
