Sarah Jane Bradford Tobiason
Nursing - 1963 to retirement
Sarah Jane Bradford Tobiason received her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing degree from Vanderbilt University and her Master's of Arts from Columbia University. She started teaching as a professor of Nursing at Arizona State University in 1963. Sarah Jane's students and colleagues remember her compassion for the patients in the hospital and her dedication to the profession. She loved her job at ASU and stayed there until she retired. Sarah Jane loved gardening, nature, and all things related to flowers and plants. She balanced her career as a nursing professor with the demands of raising a family. Visiting the Desert Botanical Garden on a weekly basis with her husband was one of her favorite activities as well as spending time with her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Rolf Van Cott Tobiason. She is survived by her son; her daughter; her son-in-law; and two grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St. Phoenix, AZ 85014. Condolences may be sent to Sarah M.
