Sally Woelfel, 72, passed away on August 8, 2019. She received her undergraduate degree at Bennington, followed by her master's degree at Columbia University, and a Doctorate at Tufts University. She was a professor of English at Stanford, Academy of Art, and at ASU. Dr. Sal was an outstanding teacher and student favorite with her captivating theatrical teaching style and commitment to their learning. She believed strongly in the power of education for women and encouraged all of her students in the pursuit of higher education. The central nexus of all of Dr. Sal's personal passions was creative expression. Dr. Sal leaves behind her husband, Bruce Woelfel, a daughter and a grandson. (Source: ASU Foundation)
