Ruth Smith, 94, passed away on January 31, 2014. She joined the WACs (Women's Army Corps) to serve her country in WWII as a secretary at Walter Reed Hospital. When Ruth and her family moved to Tempe, AZ in 1961, she began working at the administrative offices at ASU. In 1974 she retired and moved to Prescott, AZ. After her husband passed away in 2003 she moved to Lincolnshire, IL. Ruth was predeceased by her husband, a brother, a sister, and her parents. She is survived by a son, a daughter, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
