Col. Russell “Bud" C. Roberts, Jr. (USAF Ret.), 87, passed away on February 18, 2016. He earned a Bachelors Degree in History from Florida State University and Master's Degree in Public Administration from George Washington University. He graduated from USAF Squadron Officer School & Air Command and Staff School. During his 26 year career in the AF, Bud earned numerous medals including the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Meritorious Service Medal, and the Air Medal with 12 Oak Leaf Clusters. Bud was a Vietnam Veteran who flew over 350 combat missions as a Forward Air Controller with Special Forces. Bud also led ROTC at ASU. He was predeceased by his wife, Deborah, and a sister. He is survived by four children, nine grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
