Roger Wayne Lidman

Roger Wayne Lidman, 58, died on May 31, 2015. Roger graduated from ASU with a degree in anthropology. He started working part time at Pueblo Grande Museum in 1976 and became the director in 1990. During his 38-year tenure, he made great friends in the museum community, the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community and other Arizona Indian communities. Roger was a past president of the Central Arizona Museum Association and the Museum Association of Arizona. He served on the board of the Western Museums Association and was a board member and past president of the Arizona Humanities Council. He also served as a faculty associate teaching museum administration for the public history program at ASU. He presented papers related to museum education, management, and operation nationally and in Canada, South Korea and Taiwan. Roger was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife Cindy, his mother and other relatives. A celebration of his life will be held at Pueblo Grande Museum, 4619 E. Washington St., Phoenix, at 12 p.m. on June 19, 2015. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Pueblo Grande Museum Auxiliary or the Arizona Animal Welfare League. (Source: Arizona Republic)
