Richard Mitchell, 80, died March 16, 2016. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Richard graduated from Western Michigan University in 1960 and received his Ph.D. from the University of Iowa in 1964. He taught quantitative methods at ASU before joining the Geography Department at SUNY/Buffalo in 1966. He retired from SUNY at Buffalo in 1997. He served as Department Chairman and director of graduate studies. He is survived by his wife, Betty, two daughters, a son, seven grandchildren and a brother.
